
Virginia Ramo, a graduate of the University of Southern California -- which has also granted her a degree of Doctorate
of Humane Letters -- was a co-founder of the Ramo Foundation. The Virginia Ramo Music Hall at USC, the Ramo Auditorium
at Caltech, and numerous endowed chairs, awards, and scholarship funds at several universities have been supported by
the Ramo Foundation. Virginia has served USC in several capacities, including vice-chairman of the Board of Trustees,
co-chairman of The Friends of the USC Library, and co-chairman of annual giving. She has been on the boards of KCET
Community Television, the Muses of the Los Angeles County Museum of Science and Industry, the Advisory Council of the
Los Angeles County Heart Association, the Founders and the Blue Ribbon 400 of the Music Center, the ARCS Foundation,
serving as National President, the Los Angeles Opera Association, the United Way, the Doheny Eye Institute, Les Dames,
and the Women's Guild of the Cedars of Lebanon Hospital. Among numerous recognitions received by Virginia are the Distinguished
Achievement Award of the American Heart Association and the Asa V. Call Award, USC's highest award given to distinguished alumni.
The Mannequins of the Los Angeles Assistance League presented her with their Life Achievement Award and she was given the Vision
Award of the Luminaires,USC's Presidential Medallion, the National Award for Community Service of Alpha Epsilon Phi, and the
Woman of the Year Award of the PanHellenic Association. She has served on the USC Board of Trustees since 1971.
