On March 20, 2007 Dr. Simon Ramo, co-founder of TRW, was honored at Northrop Grumman Space Technology's Redondo Beach facility, Space Park. In conjunction with the company's celebration of 50 years in space, a roadway into the facility was dedicated as Simon Ramo Drive. Employees, alumni and guests gathered to share the tribute, watch a short biopic, and hear Northrop Grumman Chairman and CEO Ron Sugar, Space Technology President Alexis Livanos and Caltech President Dr. Jean-Lou Chameau laud Dr. Ramo for helping establish the missile and space industry in the United States.

On April 11, 2007, at Space Foundation's 2007 National Space Symposium in Colorado Springs, Dr. Ramo received the Space Foundation's highest award, the General James E. Hill Lifetime Space Achievement award. Ramo was honored at a special luncheon during the 23 National Space Symposium. "It is especially gratifying to honor Dr. Ramo as our 2007 honoree," said Space Foundation President and Chief Executive Officer Elliot G. Pulham. "Dr. Ramo long has been dedicated to advancing the exploration and development of space and ensuring the United States remains a leader in science and technology."
