The Northrop Grumman-built Defense Support Program (DSP) satellites have been the spaceborne segment of NORAD's Tactical Warning and Attack Assessment system since 1970.

Space Tracking and Surveillance System (STSS)

Operating in low-earth orbit, STSS satellites will use onboard infrared sensors to detect, track and discriminate ballistic missiles throughout their trajectories.
